The Birth of the Soapy Wench!

In the beginning, in the year 2000 there was a woman. A woman who had a huge family and wanted to give them all presents and had a wee bit of a problem, there was not enough money to provide for gifts for all of this woman's relatives. The woman had grown up knowing that her grandmother had made soap when she was growing up, so she went to work on finding out how to do so. She started making soap in November of 2000, shortly after her second child was born. Soap making for her was a way to give back to those people the woman loved dearly without sending her new family into the poor house. That woman became enamored with all things soap inspired, from melt and pour soap for the kids to make, to learning the basics of what soap is and what soap is not and everything in between. That woman now known by all of her friends as the Soapy Wench found out how wonderfully historic, and creative making soaps and toiletries is. That woman wanted the whole world to know how to make these bath goodies. That woman decided to start this site is for those who love bath goodies, and those who love to make them, from the Beginner who is just finding out about melt and pour, to the home savonier (soap maker in French), and to the person who is just about to branch out into contract manufacturing or buying a warehouse to start their own soap making manufacturing plant. I am Soapy Wench.

This is information that I've garnered from many sources and feel that there is a need for this to be free to all who wish to learn. This is for the masses. A fun look at chemistry through the eyes of a once failed chemistry student, who has now found a passion in chemistry that hopefully, will bring more children and adults to the realization that chemistry can be fun and helpful as well as having a very useful end product. In our pages you will find useful tips and hints that go from the beginner level to the advanced. If you feel that the information within our pages is to your liking, or would like to make a suggestion, please send us an email to soapywench@soapywench.com. I await your email with anticipation.

With joy and laughter,
Soapy Wench.
